When you book flights, do you get the tickets pretty sharpish or not ?

Booked flights with Ryan air, about a fortnight ago. The flights aren't until Sept, but having never booked any before I don't know if I should have recieved the tickets or anything yet.

The flights that we are taking don't actually start running until June, so I thought maybe thats why we had heard nothing.

Had conformation email of booking and they took the money but thats it.

I flew Ryan air in October and didn't have tickets, just a booking reference number on an email. That should be all you need.

Did you book online?
Quite often you don't get a paper ticket -
just a booking number, and you just need to take the booking number and some ID to the check-in when you go.
Have a look at the small print.

oops - typed too slowly - Rach beat me to it!

CrackerOfNuts · 07/03/2008 21:25

Oh really, hadn't realised that at all. Will go and read the small print.

I would somehow feel alot better with ticket in hand i think.

I booked with Virgin and you just get an e-ticket. What does it say at the top of the email? Should say print and take it with you.

As already said on here Ryanair is a ticketless airline, as are most of them nowadys.

You simply check in with your eticket reference number which was isssued when you paid.

sophiewd · 07/03/2008 21:29

You just need to print off your confrimation email that they sent you.

CrackerOfNuts · 07/03/2008 21:30

Just checked email and yep it does say to just go along with Ref number and ID to get boarding pass.

Thanks guys, am such a travel novice, I have no clue what I am doing.
