December Holiday?

Hello all,

Looking for somewhere to visit in December for a weekend break and was hoping to get some ideas on here.

Looked at Amsterdam and Iceland so far, would like a Christmas/Winter feel, short flight/train from London and max 4 days.

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Also looked at Edinburgh but would like to go "away"

TIA

Budapest. Has Christmas markets, lots to do/see including great ruin bars and the Szechenyi Baths. Also not too expensive!

Yes I say Budapest too. We went for the xmas market a few years ago and it was fantastic.

Vienna, Munich or Prague

Budapest is wonderful around Christmas I'd recommend it too, certainly over Amsterdam. Tallinn is on my Christmas time bucket list!

Helsinki is lovely in winter. We were there on a stopover in December and there was proper snow. We’ve been on the Helsinki Tallin ferry in March and the Baltic has been frozen so they used the ice breaker which was interesting to see!

We love the Christmas markets. My favourite isVienna. It's just such a magical place at Christmas with all the churches offering carol concerts and lovely cosy bars and restaurants. The German cities also offer very traditional experiences. Munich. Frankfurt and Nuremberg were lovely.
