Is it safe to go to Cairo at the moment?

I’ve looked on the government website, but it just says follow our travel advice before traveling. But I can’t find anything specific.

well I wouldn't. there is no government advice against travel, but it probably depends where you go, who you are etc.

It’s a one day stop over, plus a few hours transit at the airport. So not staying for too long.

Anyone else been recently?

My husband and son are there at the moment, they’ve been there since last Saturday. They are having a great time, including lots of sight seeing.

Yes it is.

Family home now since last Saturday. They didn’t feel any of the Middle Eastern situation while they were there, but I think things can change, and you need to assess the situation when you’re due to go. Wishing you a safe, fun trip

I came back from Egypt yesterday and took a trip to Cairo whilst there. It was fine! Definitely visit the pyramids and the Egyptian museum - would recommend spending a day at both!

You might feel safer booking a guide or onto a guided tour, we did.
