Would you be happy to take kids to Egypt or would the terrorism threat bother you?

We went 2 years ago when DS was just a bump and weren't too worried. The week after we got back that bomb went off.

We're debating going back with DS (now 18 months) as I'm due to have a baby in August so we thought it might be nice to get away whilst its just 3 of us.

Thing is, my mum's obsessed with the idea that we shouldn't take kids there because of the threat. I wasn't too worried (dunno that we're much safer here!) but she keeps going on and now am wondering if am being reckless.

Surely loads of families go there every day? What do you think?

where do you live? plenty of 'threat' in the UK so what's the problem? you are more likely to be killed or injured in a car accident anyway. go to egypt, have fun

My thoughts exactly Norah. We're in Manchester and already been blown up once!

i was in egypt 2 years ago when that bomb blew up... in dahab wasn't it? We were up coast in Taba, and definitely felt a bit wierd about things for a while, but still think I'd go back. I live in London ffs, just as likely to go up in a puff of smoke here as anywhere else (well, anywhere that one might reasonably go on holiday to!)
So, yes, I'd go. Unless the foreign office change their policy for any reason.

We just came back when the bomb went off also. Have now booked again for Easter.

We took DS1 to Egypt when he was 8 months. Would have gone again last year when he was 18 months but was all booked up where we wanted to go. We lived in London at the time and am pretty sure threat of being blown up (or killed in any manner tbh) was higher at home. I would go, but go sooooon or it will be too hot for you (being pg) and your DS.
