Post A’level holiday destination (without parents!!)

DD and friends are looking into a holiday after A’levels with a group of friends. They want Europe/beach/lively but not necessarily party central (ie they don’t really want Magaluf, Zante etc) but they do want easily accessible, a few bars/clubs options.

Needless to say I’m slightly terrified but wondering if anyone can recommend any fun, lively places that are affordable but not going to be completely full with people on a mad one 🤪

If they like music then the Europe music festivals can be great. Benicassim / Sonar / Primavera to name but three. They can stay in a hotel so have the comforts of a bed and a pool.

Some of my daughter's friends went to Lisbon this summer. They didn't want a bug clubbing party scene but wanted some life!

Big clubbing...or bug clubbing either Grin

@chachachachangesoolala thanks, they do like music but definitely want a more typical beach holiday with nightlife for this one.

@Panicmode1 thanks, are the beaches right in Lisbon? They won’t have a car due to their ages so need to be able to walk to beach or public transport. Thanks.

Rhodes is nice, but I'd opt for Mallorca, just not magaluf

Panicmode1 · 10/10/2023 07:36

I imagine so @Summerbay23 None of them drove or had access to a car and said it was a fabulous week!

Alicante. Beautiful city with great beach

Barcelona?

TheaBrandt · 10/10/2023 07:38

Slap on the beach. Also Barcelona which is lively with a beach. My 16 year old went with a friend last summer to a language school but lots of clubbing. The girls felt safe lots of female bar staff etc

Gdansk - hear me out not as random as it sounds. Sopot is a beach resort about a 20 minute/£10 uber drive away. Gdansk was hot when we went in September and so clean with a great selection of cocktail bars and restaurants plus things to do.

Costa Adeje- far enough from the club vibe of Playa de Les Americas but close enough to venture there if they want. Some lovely hotels that aren’t 18-30 central.
