I gave up about a week ago when there was literally 2 places left. That was Levi.
Rovanemi had more. I realised then, it was too late!
I looked at Winter activity holiday mainly, without skiiing and Santa!

These trips get booked up over a year in advance. I know that Canterbury Travel release their places the September the year prior and things get booked up very quickly.

We went in February half term, it was truly amazing. We did have to book quite a way in advance but you might have more luck that going around Christmas. the boys didn't believe in santa then so it wasn't a big draw for us

Thanks!! Looks like it’s Tenerife then 😂

TUI have availability for Lapland on 4 night breaks if you go into Lapland and last minute deals 18 options come up. From just under £1000 per person.

Silkiebunny · 14/10/2023 09:17

When we went back in 2012 we didn't book until November though then it was 500 each so big price jump.

HelpaFriend85 · 14/10/2023 10:12

Yes I need to go on the 17th or 18th, we are breaking up a week before other schools and going back earlier

Actually if you go in under holidays any London airport 18 Dec 4 nights there's 9 options that come up. We just had B&B when we were there and actually there was a 3 course dinner with fireworks one night and another day with the husky sledging etc there was a big lunch and we took some snacks in suitcase and few drinks and the extra food and drink we needed was minimal. Ours had a lovely swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna etc and that was really nice to go to, very warm. Its very warm in their hotels, very cold outside. Daylight hours are short so was glad to be in a hotel rather than having to walk from a cabin.

This is great info I was just speaking to DH about the limited daylight in Tenerife in December and of course the same in Lapland!

It was a while back but I think it was just something like 10am to 2pm which had daylight so you really had to be quite organised around those times - the tours are around those times. So the huskies, reindeer, snowmobiles will be in those hours. Then was nice to have the pool and jacuzzi etc to come back to and I was actually glad we hadn't booked one of the cute looking cabins as they had to walk to pool outside in -27C and dark whereas we could walk through 25C heated hotel in light.

Silkiebunny · 14/10/2023 14:47

TUI give you snow gear so its ok temp wise though good to take thermals as well. But its so hot in hotels you could have worn T shirt and shorts inside ours. 😂Its an amazing trip.
