Will be in Belfast week after next and looking for some recommendations around Cathedral Quarter/Titanic Museum/anywhere within walking distance of the city centre, for lunch and dinner please?

They're good eaters and looking forward to trying some local food but also love eg pizza.

Cosmo in victoria square caters for all. It is an international buffet I think circa 20stg per person. Toni macaronis next door is lovely for italian food too.

Thanks, those both sound great @Neverinamonthofsundays

Belfast has hundreds of incredible independent places to eat. Common Market by the cathedral has several pop up food stalls with burgers, Mexican, Greek, Filipino, pizza by the slice, poutine etc etc. The streets around the cathedral are teeming with food offerings, please don’t go and eat in a shopping centre! Slightly south of the city centre is Botanic Avenue, again lots of choices from all over the world and a wee bit further on, the Lisburn Road.

There are loads of independent restaurants on Botanic Avenue (aka student central), which is a 10-15 min walk from the city centre or 5 mins on the train. Our teenagers liked Scalini (Italian) and Tribal Burger.

Sawaranga · 06/10/2023 14:33

Is there anywhere that you would recommend for boxty?

Thanks @twilightcafe Botanic gardens is on our list so assume same area.

Holohans Pantry for boxty

Neverinamonthofsundays · 06/10/2023 15:36

Oh as adults we normally go to the Lisburn road for dinner but we have fussy teens so go to the places above but never found them rough. That said I am from ROI myself.
Springsteens might do boxty not sure as I dont like it. Often had brunch there. Ryans bar I suppose might work too although woeful lighting and a bit weatherspoonsy. We like Shu, Blu bar, Bengal Brasserie (not the byob one) and Zaharna if that helps. Quaint little place too but I cannot for the life of me think of the name of it.

Sawaranga · 08/10/2023 11:30

Thanks very much all, looking forward to trying out lots of places

Definitely Holohans Pantry for boxty and good food in general. And it's not far from Botanic. I think it's BYO too
