Holiday of a lifetime ideas

If you had two weeks and a reasonable amount to spend on a holiday, where would you go?

We have a big anniversary coming up in 2025 and I've decided to have a holiday of a lifetime, we're mid 50s, fit-ish and have a good budget to work with.

No cruises or winter sports. It'll be hotels all the way so no back packing either don't mind things like rain forest trekking or horse riding in America so it's not all about the sun and beach.

I think with “holidays of a lifetime” there are places that are easy to get to and popular, Thailand, Costs Rica, Viet Nam, California etc but I agree that tourism is changing some of them. That’s not a bad thing for the countries but I’m not sure it makes it a unique and experience when millions do the same thing . We have been on a skippered boat in the Caribbean and that’s a brilliant way of getting from beach to beach! It was fabulous and for a special occasion and just perfect if you like Sun, sea and sand. We have now got to an age when seeing more of the world is more important than SS&S!
