Some artisan cheese we asked the b and b owner to look after in their fridge.

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 05/10/2023 06:20

My daughters pillow case she dragged round absolutely everywhere with her. To make matters worse it was the same colour (white-ish!) as the bedding. We thought we would never see it again and she was inconsolable. But they found it ( at the hotel in Spain) and sent it home to us! We were overjoyed!

Multiple phone chargers
Sunglasses
Two unworn items of clothing hanging in the wardrobe

meatbaseddessert · 05/10/2023 06:27

All my dirty laundry. Left at PIL house.
Given it was only a long weekend they basically just found a pile of my worn knickers.

The shame.

Monty27 · 05/10/2023 06:34

Jewellery. Nice jewellery but of course ilost property didn't have it. Twice.
Probably socks and smellies.and such stuff I wouldn't notice. But I can't forget the jewellery. Insurance didn't cover it.

Most of my clothes. Was so busy trying to make sure the dc's stuff was all packed, I forgot to pack my own 🤦‍♀️

TigerRag · 05/10/2023 11:51

Sun cream, plug (one of those multi ones with USB / C ) and my card wallet.

GatherlyGal · 05/10/2023 11:52

One shoe. Upacked bag to squeeze something else in and somehow only put one shoe back in.

listsandbudgets · 05/10/2023 11:55

Prescription medication - thankfully hotel were kind enough to post it on

HerRoyalNotness · 05/10/2023 11:58

A kindle. I left it under the pillow. It was old and I had a newer one at home so didn’t worry about trying to get it back.

Dd had some new swimmers drying on the towel rail and I think they got swept up in housekeeping when they washed the towels. They never did find them.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 05/10/2023 12:00

Alcohol. I couldn't afford to replace lt either. Sad

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 05/10/2023 20:05

DH is good at this . Multiple phone chargers and watches left behind - also bags of dirty laundry behind bathroom doors .

Excelled himself earlier this year when he mislaid his passport somewhere in Malaga airport - between security and passport control .

They had to unload our luggage and we had an extra 4 day 'holiday' while he had emergency travel documentation sorted . Overall it cost us around £1500.

GatherlyGal · 06/10/2023 12:41

Wow @ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea you mean he really lost it (rather than it being in the bottom of a bag etc. Quite an achievement!

PuttingDownRoots · 06/10/2023 12:43

We left pur kettle at Disney land.

QOD · 06/10/2023 12:46

chucky the much loved doggy teddy that was left in the bed in France. was 15 years ago and I am still bitter that they charged me 16 Euros to return it!!!!!

A whole wallet of DVDs left in a hotel room in Cyprus - returned to us FOC

Applesaarenttheonlyfruit · 06/10/2023 21:20

My very large boom box, as I ran from our apartment to catch the bus (having been out all night). It was my sisters and she went crazy. Ah, life 30 years ago 😂

snowgirl1 · 06/10/2023 21:24

DH left my expensive D-lock for my bike behind locked to a pillar at the campsite. Could even ask them to send it to us because it was locked...and DH did bring the keys home 😂

CharlotteRose90 · 06/10/2023 21:34

A full bottle of new perfume, left it in a drawer by mistake. When I contacted the hotel surprise surprise they couldn’t find it.

homeworkismyhell · 06/10/2023 22:43

For me, phone chargers mainly.
DH is excellent at this; iPad, phone chargers, toothbrushes, razors, once even his entire suitcase, he took it out of the apartment and just left it next to the car and drove away. Managed to get the iPad back (from America) and the suitcase couriered home (from Scotland).
Once we thought we had left the dog behind. We got to services about 4 hours away from holiday destination and she wasn't in her travel crate, thankfully she had just squeezed out a small gap and wedged herself behind the travel crate. She hated the car and it was an anxious few minutes before we realised what she had done.

RunnyPaint · 06/10/2023 22:51

About a dozen Easter eggs we had bought to take to various young family members we would be visiting after a stay in a cottage 😳

Zola1 · 06/10/2023 22:53

Left all my jewellery at the hard Rock in London. Luckily they posted it to me

TheChosenTwo · 06/10/2023 22:54

Ds left his favourite teddy at a hotel in Brighton, fortunately our friend was staying on for a couple more nights and housekeeping had found it, very happy to be reunited!
Dh once ushered us all out of the villa on holiday to leave as I was going in to do one last sweep of our bedroom. He was all “don’t worry, I’ve don’t that room now, all sorted”, then landed at Gatwick before he realised our car/house keys were left behind in the top drawer of the bedside table. We all had to get the train home and we paid a small fortune to get the keys posted over and also had to extend the airport parking slot! He’s not so quick to shoo me out of the house these days when I give him ’the look’ 😂

electronic kitchen scales - we were self catering, and tend to weigh out ingredients (pasta, rice - I'm not baking on holiday). Many places don't have them, so we take them with us. Sometimes we bring them back....

I left mine on a boat on the Norfolk broads last year.

Latest holiday I left the handle of our small but quite expensive hand coffee mill which we take alongside an Aeropress Hmm
