Can we get it all in Greece?

Looking for a 5* hotel, good for kids but not necessarily bells & whistles as ours won't partake in many sports etc- just a few pools would be sufficient...
Anywhere in Greece as long as direct flight, with easy access for interesting day trips to see ancient ruins etc
Close to nice sandy beach & a few shops/bars but not too lively.
According to my DH you can't get it all in one place in Greece - surely you can??!!? So before I start looking randomly, would love to hear from anyone with recommendations that fit the bill!

Ikos- I've done IKOS Aria in Kos but have also visited IKOS Oceania in Thessaloniki.

Next year hoping to go to IKOS Olivia!

@fitch568 Yes. On the Athenian Riviera. Beaches and very expensive hotels. Proper 5 star. Astir Palace, Aegeon Beach, Grecotel Cape Sounion, Divani Apollon. All within easy distance of Athens.

Thx.. ok, they look lovely but these prices are insane.. esp if kids don't even get a proper bed! Could go long haul for the same amount. Which is where we get every year when looking into Greek holidays! Any other suggestions? I guess accom budget is £6-7k for 4.. going early July.

You said 5 star. Not certain your budget is. What about a villa?

I know but I (naively) didn't think it would cost that much at 5 star! £23k?!?!!

Which location is best for Rui s... Athens or Crete? Or another island?

Rhodes. Near the old town. Marvellous place.

We stayed at Ikos Olivia in May. It's amazing, but the prices have gone crazy for next year! We're trying Sani next May but that will also be crazy expensive in July... Have you looked at Jet2 indulgent escapes? They had loads of nice 5* hotels in Greece when I was looking

In a similar boat but with slightly smaller budget. People always recommend Ikos on here but no way could anyone we know afford £20k plus!

Look at Creta Maris in Crete. Think it really fits your want list. We loved it

Neilson messini beach club…nice ruins nearby, short taxi to nearest town, pool, kids clubs…

@fitch568 I’m at IKOS Aria Kos now. IKOS hotels will deliver everything you ask for and more.

Peloponnese

look where the airlines flight directly in Peloponnese, it’s so much cheaper than other areas, Beach is amazing and overall more locals than tourists

@fitch568 my husband and I paid about 3.5K for our week with BA. We always take the most basic room at IKOS, that’s a great room here at Aria.

Came on here to post about Creta Maris. It's really fabulous and whilst not cheap, if you book with Jet 2 it's not unreasonable.

Easy to get to Knossos and into the beautiful mountains.
