Weather Crete

Hi. My family and I are planning holiday in last week of May. Has anyone been to Crete at the end of May recently? What has the weather been like and what part of Crete did you go?

I was there last year 24th to 31st May. It was lovely, 28 to 32 degrees, which was a bit of a heat wave. Mid to late twenties is normal at that time i think. We were just outside Chania.

We went to Crete this year during May half term (26th May onwards) and the weather was awful for the first 3 days with heavy rain and very chilly to be in the unheated pool. It did warm up for the last 3 days which made the pool a lot nicer but it did seem chilly in the evening. We went to Stalis which we didn't enjoy (not weather related). The weather this year for the end of May was horrible in most holiday areas.

However last year we went to Greece in May half term and it was around 30 degrees and gorgeous weather. Not sure I we fancy risking May half term again.

Thanks for your replies. Where is best to stay in Chania? Want somewhere with a pool and close to restsurants and possibly beach
