help! i am taking dh to barcelona for his birthday at the end of the month (mil has kids). have tried googling and reading all kinds of reviews and nowhere closer to making a decision. does anyone have any recommendations of a nice hotel in the central part of barcelona? hoping not to spend more than 100 per night....?

arts and casa camper are amazing but very expensive. You do get 2 rooms and free food at casa camper though.

this site is great for reviews

this one looks good and cheap too

In January, we stayed at the Olivia here - a brilliant hotel, centrally located and, via lastminute, flights and hotel for a 2 night stay was £318 for both of us (so very cheap) yes that was everything!

thanks mesaloca. i am afraid trip advisor was one of the websites i have trawled through but there are so many reviews and i was hoping maybe anyone could give some personal recommendations?

mrsrecycle, olivia looks great but i am afraid a little over my price bracket.

we didn't book via trip advisor, we used lastminute.com - its one of their secret destinations, we took a gamble and it paid off. As I said was really cheap package.

Hotel Pulitzer - it's really close to Las ramblas area. Quite a modern hotel, lovely rooms
