Top tips please. We have loop bus tickets but are pretty clueless what the best options are.

When are you going? It can be quite cold and windy there in April at the start of the cherry blossom season.

The train station is a spectacular piece of architecture.

Ochakare guest house is nice and reasonably priced as is the undercover market.

The castle and gardens are stunning. Kenrokuen is fun in the early evening with street vendors selling food.

It's not far to Shirakawa-go which is really interesting.

We’ve got 16 days in Japan in October, Tokyo, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Osaka. I’ve generally got a plan but Kanazawa is a bit vague.
