The TV selection is pretty good, and on some planes they now have on demand TV which is great cos you don't have to wait for it all to cycle round. The childrens packs aren't what they used to be I think.

I TOOK LOTS OF LITTLE THINGS TO DO (PARTY BAG TYPE THINGS) FIRST TIME WE DID IT WITH 4, 7 AND 9 Y OLDS. THEY DID PLAYDOH, CHALKBOARD, BUBBLES ETC AND I DOLED THEM OUT ONE BY ONE ON THE HOUR (ROUGHLY). THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY KIDS PACKS ON THE WAY OUT SO I ASKED THE CABIN CREEW TO MAKE SURE THEY HAD SOME ON THE WAY BACK. VIDEOS OK BUT A BIT OLD AND THE KIDS COULD CHOOSE THEMSELVES RATHER WORRYYINGLY. SNACKS LIKE FRUIT TOO. SORRY ALL IN CAPS

they will get packs but they are not great...

Films/TV pretty good but they only play to their schedule. we found a portable dvd player a godsend for our DS (2.5) but I guess you would need two . Plenty of books (a new one each as a surprise)?

Food was pretty dire when we went last month, plenty of portable snacks will be very handy..I knew that banana guard would be useful eventually . Dont forget to put some in your case for the return journey too.

The other thing we did (slightly cruel maybe but kept us sane)was to put DS to bed late the night before. We also had to be up early on the day so he was totally exhausted by the time we got on the plane. He kept going for 3 hours before flaking out for 3-4 hours!

What terminal are you departing from?.

Use their online check in 24 hours before departure and choose your seats carefully.

There will be seat back tvs.

Your children should receive the kids packs, they're okay.

Would certainly bring along your own foodstuffs for the children. BA tend to serve the childrens meals not long before the adult meals arrive, meals overall can be nondescript. I'd eat before boarding if at all possible.

yes but we can never online check in with kids
