We’re planning a last minute break at the end of this month for just the two of us. I’ll be around 19 weeks pregnant. I’ve been looking at Puerto Pollensa or Cala D’Or those who have been would you recommend here or somewhere alternative? We’re looking for good restaurants (which are varied as my food aversions are still lingering slightly!) a nice peaceful beach with easy access and just a pretty town with a chilled vibe. Don’t plan on doing much except relaxing and eating!

Personally, I preferred PP because it felt like a working town with markets, schools, every day shops etc. CD felt very artificial in comparison with fish & chip shops, karaoke bars and 'English' style pubs, but I will admit that it also seemed a lot cleaner. PP has a more expansive beach, CD has a series of coves. The coves felt more crowded than I would have liked.

Cala d'Or is quite a lot busier than Puerto Pollensa. The beaches are prettier too (rocky-sided coves, versus a long stretch of sand that is not very wide in places). However, PP feels friendlier, I think.

If you want calmer still, try Portocolóm, which is an unspoiled fishing village with not many hotels, There is a sheltered harbour with a "good enough" beach on the side across from the town, and there's a bigger beach (Cala Marçal) 15 minutes walk south. Plenty of restaurants, mostly Spanish/Mallorcan or Italian. If for some reason you find yourself wanting a Full English Breakfast or a curry then Cala d'Or is just 10 minutes away by bus.

Love PP but I haven't been to Cala d'Or. I've been to Cala bona that's nice too.

I like both but would probably go for Cala D’Or myself because I think the beaches are nicer (beautiful coves) and it has a semi-pedestrianised centre with plenty of restaurants. I find it lively enough to keep a family entertained but with a family friendly vibe and didn’t really notice much in the way of full English/fish and chips etc.

Just back from cala st vicente hotel grupo molins, beach a step away and hotel pool side showers to use after beach
Did half board and food was varied, daily specials and made to order fish meat and veggie
Easy bus to pollensa town and pollensa,port..bus runs til october i think
From pollensa port take boat trip to formentora beach ferry boat
Pollensa port is much more of a small town vibe more options for cafes restaurants etc

I would say Pollenca old town itself. You can get the bus to the beach (it’s easy) but the old town is gorgeous to stay in and has fabulous restaurants.

I got back from Cala D’Or last week . It really is lovely and relaxed. Pretty cove beaches with a huge choice of restaurants m cafes tapas bars and there is a Marina which is lovely to walk round. We always stay ar Ferrera Park apartments right on the rocks above the beach . Two min walk from the beach . Shops 5 mins away but the actual apartments are quiet with a beautiful view and you can walk around to other beaches .
Stayed at PP once and it is lovely but not as scenic and varied as Cala D’Or .

We stayed in a villa just outside PP and it was beautiful. Loved the old town, lots of beautiful squares to wander round and gorgeous restaurants and ice cream shops whilst staying quite classy. I liked the harbour too but not as much as the old town. Lots of nice beaches dotted around but we particularly liked Formentor

I agree with those saying stay in Pollenca old town rather than PP. It's much nicer and the restaurants are much better and getting to PP is v quick.

Or, if you really want to stay right by the beach, I agree Cala San Vicente is more beautiful than PP.
