Greece 2024: Seems Expensive?

Booked our August flights for Greece. Going to do some island hopping. It seems really expensive? Cheapest hotels are around £120 a night on some islands. Two years ago we were paying £70.

Honestly, and I go to Greece, 2-3 times a year, and have been for many years, never found it that costly at all. Well, I do not go to the tourist islands like Naxos, Santorini, Corfu etc, as when I go, I want to experience Greek, not some English version. Usually I pay for a whole apartment 40-50 Euros max a night

Mixture of cost of living crisis, and the fact that Greece is way more popular this year as everyone thinks it will be a cheap holiday.

We are currently planning a Greek mainland holiday and as soon as you get out of the big tourist towns it's £50 a night max. But you need to get out of the super popular places and admit to yourself you don't really need a sea view.
