Puy du Fou

I’ve been wanting to visit for ages, think DC now a great age and thinking about booking. Has anyone visited Puy du Fou in October before (end of month for half term)? I’m worried that the weather will make the experience much less enjoyable. It’s all outside so if there is bad weather does it make for shorter, miserable days?

It’s not all outdoors. There are at least 5 or 6 indoor shows, plus the artisan shops in the various period villages. I could spend ages just browsing in the shops! There are also themed cafes and restaurants. Take layers and an umbrella and just go - it will definitely be better than in the summer crowds.

We were in Puy du Fou this august and we had lots of rain. So no guarantees in summer for good weather either.

I would love the shops @Fivemoreminutes1 but not sure about the DC!

True re no guarantee for dry weather in summer either @DutchCowgirl how did you find it in the rain?

We were there in a mini heatwave in August and looked forward to the indoor shows as a break from the heat! There is a lot indoors. Look at the weather forecast and the show timetable the day before and if it’s mixed you can try to plan a schedule where you’re indoors for the wet bits.

It is really worth it!

We did the indoor shows, but the queues are outside. We weren’t prepared enough for waiting in the rain for an hour. So we all got very wet and cold. Take enough umbrella’s and raincoats ..

The weather in October can be great here in France. In any case it's a great show. Indoors and outdoors. No firework show in October but definitely worth a visit
