Passport validity

Please help my brain is a mess. My passport was issued on 27th September 2013, can I use it to travel within the EU before the 27th of this month with no problems? Expiry May 2024.

Was supposed to be going to Morocco which it would have been fine for due to not being in EU and was planning to renew on return but due to the devastating earthquake it's off the cards now 😢

Yes you’re fine to enter the EU until the 26th September from my understanding of the rules. The 10 year rule doesn’t apply to exiting the EU, you just need at least 3 months validity left

It will be fine as long as is still valid for at least three months when you leave your destination.

Simple test . Can you say yes to both these?

Is it less than ten years old if you look at the start date (issue) ?
Is there three months/six months (see requirement for country you are going to) left from the expiry date?

“Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date you intend to leave the EU and it must have been issued within the last 10 years. This means your travel document must have been issued within the previous 10 years the day you enter the EU on condition that is it valid until the end of your stay plus an additional 3 months.”

Thanks everyone.

I think because it's just so close to the edge of 10 years it will be a matter of days I was worried they would just say it was September and not the end of September.

Something else to thank Brexit for.
