We got married there coming up to 20 years ago, our wedding anniversary will coincide with a big birthday so we're considering going back with DD 13 at Easter.
We had a fantastic time and thought it was the most amazing place ever, we've only been on one non UK holiday since. It was called Riu Tropical Bay then and its new sister hotel next door was under construction, think it's called RIU Palace Tropical Bay and it's pricier.
Having a look at ours online, it doesn't seem to have had much of a refresh since and reviews are mixed. I'm not overly fussed if the rooms are a little dated but food, safety, cleanliness, pools and entertainment would be important at that price ( around 6K with premium seats on the flight.) We also don't want to risk spoiling happy memories of it if it's not as good now.
Anybody been recently? Or stayed elsewhere in Negril?
