We've travelling to DLP in Spring 2024 - me, DH and DD(5 when we go). We're booked for three nights at Cheyenne and just have bed and breakfast.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for the visit? Or things they think are really worth seeing/a must do?

We've already booked a Princess Lunch and to be honest, I don't imagine we'll be going on many rides.

We went with my daughter around that age and the Princess lunch was the highlight of the trip.

There are some lovely rides for younger children (or adults like me who don't like fast rides), Pirates is a firm fave in our household.

I'd make sure to do the shows, they are lovely and really magical for children.

You can wander into the other hotels, the Marvel one is definitely worth a little look.

Just enjoy it and soak up all the atmosphere 😊

While I've no specific plans to go I'm on a few FB groups about it. There's tips on good places to stand for the fireworks etc.
Take full advantage of magic hour and go to the rides that typically have longest wait first. You can do parent swap, where you and your OH take turns riding/staying with DC without having to queue again.

The special themed ice creams are very good value.
There's a dragon hidden under the castle (you'll need to Google details, I can't remember!)
Consider a cheap buggy for your DC, there's a lot of walking involved.
Look into hidden "bumbag" that you can wear under your top to hold valuables. Don't carry all cash. Lock up valuables in suitcases in the hotel room. (Same as most places but lots of bad reports ATM)

The best strategy with young children is to get up early to make use of magic hours, then go back to the hotel after lunch for a rest, and then come back late afternoon and stay til park closure.
You can take lots of food and snacks into the park with you, just not big cool boxes. One stop away on the train or a short drive away is the Val D’Europe shopping Centre which has a huge hypermarket inside called Auchan. We sometimes stock up there with snacks and stuff for packed lunches. It’s not only a cheaper option it’s also way more convenient (you can eat when and where you want) and much much healthier (the food is the standard theme park fare – think beige and fried!). We managed to find various Disney themed snacks and treats (the novelty factor was a win with the tiny people!).
If you don’t want to do a picnic, there are plenty of quick service options for lunch, but during school holidays these often have a queue of 30+ minutes from about 12-2pm. We found that the queue at The Earl of Sandwich moves quickly and it has a good choice of food. Meal deals at Earl of Sandwich are around 13 euros, which includes a drink.
You will waste a lot of time in the parks trying to figure out what you want to do if you don’t have a plan before you get there. Your plan will most likely change towards the end of your holiday as you discover what attractions you love and want to ride again, but it is important to have a general idea of what you want to do before you get to the park on the first couple of days.
The wait times for rides are also slightly shorter during peak dining hours. Due to the nighttime spectacular, Fantasyland attractions often close early. I recommend doing them early in the morning.
Definitely take a power bank for your phone.
