Hi all we are off to Amsterdam tomorrow and it's going to be hot. Any tips for places to visit with aircon , nice outdoor places to chill in the shade or things to do to cool off? We are going on a boat trip so that should be nice 😊

Most of the museums should be cool. It is hot but not unbearably so, perfect weather for sitting on a terrace for a drink.

Lots of lovely parks. The Vondelpark is probably the best known one, but there are others too.

It's also worth popping over to the Noord district (free ferries from behind Amsterdam Centraal Station) if you have time. It's one of the lesser known areas but still with things to see and do, so may not be so crowded.

Have a fabulous time! Amsterdam is my favourite city.

Maritime museum, get the metro. 29 shouldn't be too bad there. Make sure to have lots of water and rest breaks.

Amsterdam Bos has lots of shady spots if you need to escape the heat. It’s about a 20min bus ride from the central station. It has some areas you can swim and there are places to rent canoes, kayaks and SUPs. All the waterways connect so you can easily spend hours paddling along under the shade. The swimming area is called the Grote Vijver and it has exceptionally clean water. It really warms up in summer, so you won’t have to worry about freezing your toes off.

Be wary of a boat ride, re-calling mine in Paris in about 32 degrees, one of these glass/plastic top boats it was torturous, everyone frantically looking for shade and water! I’d avoid the boat trip unless you knew it had adequate cover in the shade!
