I have booked flights to Chania next week as we (DH and I) could do with a bit of a break.

Any suggestions for a beach front hotel. Pref adults only but not a deal breaker. Good food (fish, non buffet options for dinner but not nec to be overly fine dining) a must. We are going to hire a car so location is flexible.

Willing to blow the budget but looking at £1500 to £1750 for 4 nights.

Some friends just came back yesterday from Domes Zeen Chania. They had a splendid time and their photos looked stunning. They do have expensive tastes though so no idea if it's within budget.

I'd go self catering and eat out, there's so many restaurants to choose from.

We stayed at Porto Veneziano when we went about 6 years ago. It is right on the harbour front in Chania Old Town. We didn’t try the hotel restaurant but there are loads of restaurants nearby.
We had a sea view room with a balcony and you get lovely sunsets . If I was doing a short break in Chania again I would definitely stay there. The room we had was small but nice.
