Last week in May - bad idea or warm and sunny? Looking for short haul decent weather - cheers

warm and sunny usually but could be a bad idea as the end of may is usually cannes film festival as well as the monaco grand prix so some places could be expensive

We did it this year. Have family there so it’s not the end of the world if the weather isn’t on our side. We managed a beach day which was lovely but the sea was too cold for me. Last day it rained.

Oh yes and the flights were £££, could have gone to NYC for less 😂 Don’t get free accommodation there though.

Thanks sounds like might not be the best idea then! Thanks for your advice

We were there last year during the Cannes film festival. The weather was perfect and we spent lots of days on the beach at Juan Les Pins. The sea was a bit bracing maybe but swimmable. This year we went to Ischia. Lovely and quiet but great weather. Sicily would also be warm.

We went to Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mere last May half term. I think it’s a bit too far west to technically count as Côte d’Azur but it’s close. The weather was mid 20s, which was just right for us. DH and I spent lots of time in the sea.
We took the train.

Cote D'Azur is perfect in May. You won't have the summer mob crowds just yet, and it's more temperate than the July and Sugust cannicule (heat wave).

Another vote here for Saint Cyr Sur Mer area, or Bandol. Saint Maximin and Frejus are also nice.

The pools aren’t heated so might not be warm enough to swim in a lot.
