Jet2 flying out of Crete Charnia to Stansted tonight

Flying home tonight from Charnia to Stansted with Jet2 and am feeling rough with a cold 😟Have you been very delayed at the airport? Do I need to prepare ourselves for a long wait!! 😩
TIA for any updates/advice

it's a small airport.

Keep an eye on the updates from the airline. Usually you have to check in as normal unless you are specifically advised otherwise by the airline. Given that it's later in today it could be that things are better by then.

Also reminder to take any essentials, chargers etc and medication in your hand luggage.

Flew from Chania to Gatwick yesterday with Tui with no delays. No idea if Jet2 are more or less likely to be affected by anything but it was fine.

Check-in desks were a much longer queue than security and passport checks.

Good luck! Jet2 have cancelled our flight, no reps in sight, can’t get through on the phone or socials. Just an email to say no flight and await further details. Their answering machine message hasn’t been updated since Monday and their 24/7 customer helpline is a joke. No one has answered for the last ten hours 😱

@Molehillminnie where are you flying to/from? It’s a joke they haven’t contracted you.
I was lead to believe that their app was giving updates, is this not the case?

The app has been updated stating a small delay.

I have trust issues with tour operators so wanting to get some on the ground feedback.

If we have a big delay I would rather wait it out at the hotel looking at the sea!! 🤣🤞

We've just returned from Heraklion to Birmingham after 36 hours of hell. Boiling hot terminal with no chairs and filthy toilets made for an unpleasant experience. We were initially told our flight was delayed by a few hours and then after waiting around for what seemed like forever were then told it was cancelled. Same for other flights bound for UK. Queue of around 800 people all confused and waiting to be accommodated for the night and people understandably annoyed and impatient. There were lots of Jet2 staff on hand at Heraklion doing their best and we found them friendly and helpful throughout the issue and kept us updated by text/email. Returned back to the airport last night which again was absolute chaos as to be expected with terrible queues but we finally boarded at around 1am. Soo glad to be back

Take plenty of water OP. I know we were at a different airport to you but by Christ it was awfully stuffy and no air con at all. Might be better at Chania. Heraklion airport needs condemning lol never known such poor facilities
Staff were lovely though

Chania Airport is nice and modern and small. Not like Heraklion at all. Biggest queues are to drop luggage/check in but its all air con and clean. I'm sure it'll be busy because of the problems though.

Biggest complaints I heard were from smokers- no smoking areas are available past security.

Flying with a cold gave me an ear infection once. If you are blocked up get a decongestant nasal spray or you will have ear pain.
