Looking for recommendations for Crete plse. We've booked Marni Village which looks beautiful but I'm a bit worried that it might be quiet for the kids in the evening.
I've been looking but I'm getting myself confused!
Marni is expensive for self catering as we upgraded to a private pool and I'm wondering about using the same money for something with entertainment/all inclusive accommodation and then still hiring a car/eating out if we fancy it.
Kids will be 13 & 9 and the 9yo is quite sociable.
I also don't want a really large complex.
Any tips welcome. Thank you x

Are you going in May half term? What sort of budget do you have?

You could have a look at Arminda Hotel & Spa, not a huge complex but nice kids facilities. I would double check that kids club etc would have started by May as some don’t start their children’s entertainment until June or even July.

Yes May half term unfortunately so it's pricey. We've paid just over £4k for marni for 9 nights but that's self catering so anticipate closer to £6k including spends.
I'll have a look at the hotel you mentioned. Thank you.

You are right in Hersonissos and very close to the star beach hotel. You'll be absolutely fine for entertainment, nightlife and kids socialising as there's lots around that area even if your hotel doesn't have it. Star beach is a busy hotel with a lot going on.

Have a look at Candia Park Village. It’s not a big all inclusive resort - it’s a Cretan style self catering village with a kids club that runs even in low season. It’s also got watersports, volleyball, tennis etc…

@Potter10 thank you for your comment. I think we are going to stick with Marni. The surrounding area looks like there are plenty of places to eat in the evening & like you say, we can go into the main town if we want more.

@Fivemoreminutes1 that resort looks amazing. The beach looks beautiful. I'll make a note of it for future visits.
