Greece: Is late June or late August better?

Due to work commitments, we can either go away in late June/early July or late August. Can’t do September.

We love Greece. Have been in June and found the water to be cold. So thought August might be better & hotter? But then it’s school holidays so there may be some kids around.

Late June for fewer kids/people.

Where in Greece?

Late June is quieter, hot but not the hottest. That's when I would choose.
Late August the sea is warmer, busier, full of kids, more mozzies and other bugs.

Late June. August is way too hot

If child free I'd always choose June, if you like to snorkel maybe take a wet suit jacket /leotard

In Crete at the
Moment - weather hot 30 - 34 so beach and pool is fine - the sea is absolutely amazing and very warm! Taxi drivers say August cooler than July when the temperature really peaks high towards 40’s some days!! 😩

Either will be fine. August will be hotter, warmer water and busier. Personally I’d choose June but I like it quiet and don’t mind a cool pool/ sea.
