Travelling as Dual Citizen

We are due to travel from the UK to Turkey in 2 days and have dual citizenship (British & South African). We've just realised my daughters British passport will only have 6 weeks left on it when we return. We can travel to Turkey on our South African passports but I'm concerned whether they'll allow us to fly back from Turkey if she only has 6 weeks left on her British passport. Can anyone give any advice at all?

to Enter the uk on a uk passport, it just needs to be in date

Not am expert, but I was advised at the consulate that you should exit and enter the country on the same passport. So DD should use her SA passport only, both ways. Are those well in date?

Plus won't the tickets be booked under a certain passport?

Or do you mean pesenting DD's UK passport at your actual local airport border on your return? (as opposed to checking in/boarding).
You'd think that shouldn't be a problem. But then again, don't they check passports against the passenger manifesto?

As I said, not a expert, sorry!

She can even enter uk on the foreign passport & get a tourist visa.

fwiw, I've had my kids enter Uk on their foreign passports but waved their expired UK passports at the border guards.

You'll be fine.

Enter Turkey on SA passport and leave Turkey on SA passport

Enter UK on British passport

You need to exit and enter on the same passport. We normally take our British ones and enter/leave the EU on our German ones.

Entering the UK with your UK one shouldn't be the problem but entering Turkey may be. If South Africa is not a Visa issue you can enter Turkey with the SA one an leave it with the SA one again.

Enter Turkey on SA passport and leave Turkey on SA passport

Enter UK on British passport

This. I think you would need a Turkey visa, but they are easy and quick to get -

e-Visa - Republic of Türkiye Electronic Visa Application System (evisa.gov.tr)

Would also need to be ready to also present the British passport to the airline staff in Turkey to prove you are allowed to enter the UK.
