Is there a weight limit to these does anyone know ? I know it has to fit under the seat in front which I think it will but it's a bit heavy
Thanks

No idea, does the website not tell you?

huggiess · 25/08/2023 12:08

Ryanair’s Bag Policy
All our fares include one small personal bag which can be brought on board, such as a handbag or laptop bag (40x20x25cm), which must fit under the seat in front of you. If you need additional baggage allowance, there are various options available to you.

No it just says that, so I'm hoping that means it doesn't matter

We just landed. No weighing. We all took a soft rucsac and stuffed it. We went for 9 days everything in there so was heavy

BugsyDrakeTableScape · 25/08/2023 12:41

It's 10kg. I've only seen it be checked once when flying from Madrid to Mahon with RyanAir - but the guy was also making every single person measure their bag at check in so I think he was the exception rather than the norm

There is always one isn't there lol

Is that not the carry on luggage though that you have to pay for ? I know my son had priority and he gets a 10kg cabin bag

I don't think there is a weight limit but the small bag dimensions are tiny. All our rucksacks except a 7 year old's one were more than 25cm wide and/or more than 20cm deep. We ended up taking a shoulder bag and PE bags to be on the safe side. Unless you are carrying rocks, I think you'd be hard pushed to get enough weight in one to be a worry, especially with the limit on liquids.

We travelled with 4x the bigger size cabin bags (55x40x20) as checked luggage. None of them got close to 10kg, and they are over double the volume of the small bag dimensions.

They have never weighed my rucksack and I am on Ryanair often. Just had to fit under the seat.

huggiess · 25/08/2023 17:51

Thanks all. I'm worrying abit about the changing bag as it's slightly bigger than an under the seat one but I'm sure it will still fit under the seat iyswim

Fitting under the seat is not the issue, it's just whether you happen to be on one of the flights where they police the dimensions like @BugsyDrakeTableScape . I don't think it's staff members' choice, it's when they are told to clamp down and sting passengers for all the excess baggage fees.

We stick to the dimensions so we don't have to worry about it, but there were loads of bigger bags on our last few flights.

BarrysTeaForMe · 25/08/2023 18:02

We flew last week and used Jansport backpacks. Mine weighed 5kg. No checking at the gate.

kweeble · 25/08/2023 18:48

I’d jusy make sure it’s the right size - I bought one online and it was my only bag for a couple of weeks away as I had access to a
washing machine

huggiess · 25/08/2023 18:57

I've found this with dimensions for a baby bag
