No contact with birth parents but wanting to take my son on hoilday.

Hi all, I have never been abroad before, I know it’s not really a big deal but I’d really like to take my son (6months). However I’ve never had a passport before I’ve tried applying online and it says I’ll need my parents birth certificates and my own original one. I have no contact with them when I tried to contact my sibling about this she said she couldn’t help me either. Does anyone know if there is away around this? And any tips for my sons first hoilday? Thank you

I can't help re: the situation with your parents, but by original, they don't mean the actual copy that your parents had back then. They just mean the full version rather than the short version. And you can apply for a new copy of either or both.

It's very possible that you can apply for your parents' birth certificates too

Actually, but I think about it, I'm sure you can apply for copies of all three, so you should be fine
