Holiday spending money for Spain

Haven't been abroad since 2019 and not to Spain since 2017. I am just trying to work out how much money to take for a self catering holiday. I know everyone's spending is different, but if you have been to Spain recently, have prices gone up a lot like they have here? Spain used to be pretty cheap for food and drink.

Depends where you go and what type of restaurants you eat it really.
I never take specific spending money though, I have maybe 200e cash then use my Monzo card (which is my main account so no charges)

We only carry about €100 cash, paying everything else on credit card (Barclays Rewards as no fees).
Eating out in some parts of Spain is expensive but still cheap in others! You could try googling the current menu of restaurants local to where you're staying.

£100 per person per day is a good rough guide

I took the 3 kids for a simple meal a couple of nights ago, it was €130 including 2 drinks each. A takeaway last night was €30

I'd say prices in Alicante are pretty similar to here (East Midlands) currently. Depends on what you buy of course. If you are looking for your home diet you will find it expensive but if you are happy eating local food then it's no different. If its still scorching out there though you end up shopping more often as food goes off quicker.

Thanks everyone! Good idea to look up menus of local restaurants. We are probably pretty frugal compared to most - we will have have barbecues and eat in most evenings, but will have a few menu del dia lunches and dinners out. Like to try the local food, so there is no issue of needing to buy English-style food. We also like having a pre-dinner drink in a nice bar.

For 2 of us we spent on average 180 euros a day - that included drinks out and all meals (and we eat well) plus coffees etc

Thanks @Crikeyalmighty that's good to know.

We went self catering for a week to Majorca recently. We took £1500, ate out every night and brought back £300.

Ps sorry forgot to say, 2 adults and a 14 yr old.

@ColouringPencils and we didn't have any self catered meals, BBQs etc- all meals out- as were in a hotel (apart from breakfast) -
