Hi I am looking for opinions on where you would go for a 20th wedding anniversary holiday in April 2025. DH said I can pick wherever I would like to go. We have a budget of 12k for the two of us. We got married when we were both 22 and had our kids young, so we've never been on a holiday without them. We are a well travelled family, so I am open to pretty much anywhere. Thanks!

We did the Eastern & Oriental Express for our 10th Anniversary. It's a luxury train that travels from Singapore to Malaysia and was a wonderful experience. You could tag on a stay at Raffles hotel in Singapore which is lovely

Luxury cruise in a part of the world you haven’t been to before. The perfect mix of relaxation/time together/ amazing food but also new sights and experiences.

I had suggested Hawaii for our silver wedding anniversary (always wanted to go there) and have been so sad to see the devastation that’s happened there.

Santorini is next on my list.

Honestly Santorini is not nice at all , check out Milo's and other smaller islands with more boutique feel

Santorini has always been on my list but seeing the crowds there has totally put me off. The sheer amount of people has put me off so many places - Rome, Florence, Paris, Barcelona. I wish we'd had the money to go before it got so saturated

I went for a long weekend to Santorini a few weeks ago and it was glorious.

The crowds don’t take away from the breathtaking beauty of the island and there are some truly world class hotels and restaurants.

The downsides are the cost and the crowds but if you can stomach the costs you can definitely have an amazing trip.

Maldives!

We went to Sangeli island for honeymoon. It cost about 11k. Breathtaking. I would do it over and over if I had the funds. We are pretty well travelled and nothing has or will ever top it I don't think.

Start collecting Avios points, get an Amex card that gives you a companion voucher (effectively buy one get one free) and this might enable you to fly business class at a much cheaper rate. We are aiming to fly business to the US for our big anniversary holiday in 2025, we started in March and already have half the points we need, we will be able to fly business for less than £2k (have to still pay taxes etc). I think you have to be a little flexible on dates mind, some routes are sought after and tricker to get.

Maldives are lovely for relaxation but I would combine with more active also, we did Sri Lanka and toured the island before heading to the Maldives, the last flight by sea plane for variety.

We are doing the Maldives next year for a special occasion and our budget is £12k to include BC flights. We use the Amex as someone recommended upthread. The Maldives look sensational and there are so many stunning hotels to choose from. Complete relaxation and a perfect place to spend quality time together

I like wildlife so it would be a safari for me

Travelling around in South East Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia) plus a week at the beach in Vietnam.

My favourite holiday with my DH so far was a few days in Cambodia, then a river cruise along the Mekong for a week followed by a few days in Vietnam. We went this March/April, the weather was great and it cost just under 10k. That was with economy flights with extra legroom for all four flights. The holiday was 5 star, think unlimited pink champagne on the small beautiful ship (only 56 passengers) and wonderful excursions and experiences. One of the evenings at a Cambodian temple was the best night of my life.
