My DP has recently been prescribed as required oromorph for pain. He has only needed to take once since but as we are going away don't want to not take just incase he needs it.
GP and consultant say they really don't need to give a letter as it's not treated as controlled here due to dose apparently but will if he pays for one (getting that sorted). Also taking prescription letter from when he discharged as it's on that.
Airline is fine as it's under 100mls.
Problem when we checked with airport they mentioned a controlled drug list on UK Gov website and that has concerned me. It's all very legal but difficult to actually acertain what we need. Keeps saying to check with consulate of country going to. Czech Republic is pretty vague but some things hint at being okay with GP letter etc but very vague.
Basically don't want to cause any delays or issues when we rock up at either airport. Don't want to lose meds either as if he needs it abd can't then it's hospital abroad which we'd like to avoid.
This stuff really needs to be easier to figure out to be honest.
So has anyone taken prescribed oromorph to Prague/Czech Republic. Was a GP letter and prescription/discharge letter sufficient or did you need anything else?
Appreciate very last minute as we weren't sure if holiday was going ahead or not but trying not to panic. Asthma inhalers has been all we've taken before.
Thanks
