Northern Sardinia in late October

We’ve booked a holiday in Palau, near Sassari for October half term. The flights were super cheap but as we’ve looked for accommodation it appears that everything is looking very closed up for the season. Worried now it’ll be pretty dead and the sea will be too cold to swim etc.

any experience of Sardinia this time of year?

We have friends who live in Southern Sardinia who we visit fairly regularly.

They’ve always said that the sea is warm enough early October but cools towards the end of October and then is too cool for most swimmers by November.

But this year has been very hot this summer, so it might be warmer later? And it depends how hardy you are

Most of the beach-y tourism is shut down by October though I think, but there are more year round resort towns.
