Time in Pool

Hello, I'm a first time mum and my pickle is 18 weeks, I'm just curious to know what people do with going swimming on holiday (centre parcs). I know you should only stay in the pool for thirty minutes, but if the pool is at constant temperature could you stay in longer or is that not good for a baby that young ! Also can you be in the pool for thirty minutes and then get back in an hour or two later ! Just want to know what people do and recommend. Thanks

Never heard of a 30 minute rule, just stay in for as long as your little one is happy to!

I’ve never heard of any rules around this. I will say that when we went to centre parcs with young children we always came away with stomach bugs.

The swimming pools at CP are so warm, I don't think the half hour rule really applies. It's not like a freezing leisure centre pool. I'd just get a decent neoprene body wrap thing like this, and just see how baby goes in the pool. You can take towels and things poolside and there's loads of seating, so you can always get out the pool, wrap up and have a drink/something to eat in there as well.

It depends on the pool temperature and whether they are wearing a wetsuit type thing. Try a bit longer and see how it goes.

It really depends on the temperature of the pool to how long they can stay.

We went to Menorca when DS2 was 20 weeks and 30 mins for the actual pool was more then enough but we would sit on the edge of the kids splash pad pool for longer and he didn't get cold as was mostly in the air just splashing feet a bit.

We have just come back from Centre Parcs, and we definitely spent more than 30 mins at a time in the pool with DD (13m). It's quite warm and there are a few different pools to splash about in. There's quite a few places to sit on the side though if you wanted a break to cuddle up in a towel.
