Where would you recommend for a beach holiday in Spain, not too touristy but where my teenagers could learn to surf or sail or something like this. Need a place where there are nice things to go and see, good food and activities to keep the kids happy. Not Barcelona direction as been in that area loads.

Javea north of Alicante is excellent, we go there a lot. And surrounding area of Moraira, Denia, Torrevieja.

I’ve been looking at Javea and it looks amazing, would you have any tips on where best to stay and would you recommend a car to get around?

We always book a different villa every time we go, often in Moraira nearby a lovely coastal town but sometimes nearer to Javea. Calpe, Altea and Javea have good water activities in summer season. Yes we always book a good car too, DH drives. Once you go to that area you keep going back!

I recommend a drive to Guadalest mountain village and the castle and museum of torture etc up there. Also the natural swimming waterfalls of Alcar. We love Terra Mitica theme park too and Villajoyosa chocolate factory tour. Loads to explore.

Have never used airb&b for Spain. We just google different websites, always get lucky v last minute! This year we used simplyowners. com I will message you the name of the manager to search for on the site that we went through this year, he found us a spectacular villa
