Family-friendly resort in Italy

Looking for recommendations for a child-friendly (but still lovely for adults) hotel/resort in Italy. Flexible on region, but ideally near the sea and a pretty town/village with independent shops and interesting architecture. Any ideas?

Not near the sea but with a private beach on Lake Lugano:

Extended family has been numerous times, I've been a few. Lovely staff, great food, self-catering also possible. Daily kids club. Several pools and spa facilities. Location-wise it's on the Italian side of Lake Lugano, 30 min drive into Lugano, and with a string of smaller communities walking distance along the lake - the nearest actual town is 20 min walk. Under an hours drive to Bellagio and Como. Nearest town has e-mountainbikes for rent.

What sort of budget?

Thank you for such a detailed response. Will definitely take a look.

I’ve also been to parco San Marco a couple of times and can recommend it.

Lots of kids at lake guarda. Particularly the south.

Look up Paradu Eco resort in Tuscany. Went twice. Fantastic for younger kids. Lots to see in that part of toscana.

Previous post suggests lake lugano, that's in Switzerland, avoid that! Swiss us hideously expensive. Italy not cheap but you don't want to pay chf francs when you can have much better and reasonable price trip to Italy,....

We've stayed in 2 Eurocamp resorts in Italy. Both very large with lots for kids to do. Bella Italia in Lake Garda and Park Albatross in Tuscany.

We like Park Albatros. It's massive though. Union Lido and Portofelice also good.

Lake Lugano crosses Switzerland and Italy. The resort recommended (parco Sam Marco) is on the Italian side.

Also I agree with lake Garda. Perhaps more for kids in south (water parks, theme parks) but north is beautiful (more a sporty active holiday). Hotel du lac et du parc in Riva del Garda is gorgeous with lots of kids activities (watersports on site, kids club etc).
