Antibes

We are off to Antibes in just under two weeks. Any recommendations for things to do / places to eat? We are there with our 5 year old and it will be a very beach based break.

Is it really as expensive as people claim? The actual flight and accommodation was a really good price in comparison to other countries but I have no idea how much it costs once there. I'm London based and very used to London prices which I'm hoping means it won't feel too ridiculous.

Watching this thread as I want to see responses. I went to Antibes for a day with work (approx 4 years back), and want to go back to the south of France for longer and for leisure. From my work trip, I don't remember food or drink feeling expensive, but I took a taxi at Nice airport for 18km miles, which cost around €90. Maybe I was ripped off. This site is quite good for getting an idea of city costs:https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=United+Kingdom&country2=France&city1=London&city2=Antibes&tracking=getDispatchComparison

I was there last year- the south of France is v expensive for food and drink (comparative to the U but not where i live) but I'm sure you can find cheaper places there. We were just there for a long weekend so hadn't researched anywhere so just rocked up to places.

Watching with interest as we are thinking of going.

We took toddler DS to juan Les pins nearby. We got the train along the coast inc to the airport. Restaurants were expensive but the supermarkets are fab so I’d self cater if you can.

The best meal of my recent holiday near Antibes was Le Fricot in the town - it only has outside seating and get there for when it opens at 6.30pm

Hi - just wanted to revive this post and see how your trip was? I'm taking my 4-year old to Antibes for half term and we are very excited!
Do you have anything to recommend specifically for kids that age?
Thanks

We loved it so much we are also going back at half term! The weather was very good when we were there so we spent most of our time on various beaches.

I'm hoping for okay weather in October but will have to see. It's just a stunningly beautiful place and we enjoyed walking around. Lots of parks to play in, little train to Juan Les Pains from next to the playground. Endless ice cream shops.

The best ice cream in the world can be found at Gelateria del Porto in Antibes. It’s close to the market, the ice cream is all made on the premises, there’s always a queue but it’s definitely worth it. Enjoy!

Oh yay, I'm so excited - thanks! :-)

PS: Oh, which playground are you talking about?

There is one just off the square - in front of the carrefour which, from google maps, looks like it's on Rue de la Republique. That is also where the little train leaves from.

There is another one on the way to Plage du Ponteil. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones we used most.

Whereabouts are you staying? Roughly!

Just wondering if you have any suggestions for a hotel or apartment in Antibes near the marina with a pool please.
4** star hotel preferably.
Thanks in advance
