Greece AI Hotel - recommendations please!

Looking for recommendations for next summer please.
Just got back from a week of AI in Ibiza. DC loved the pool and the hotel was right on the beach. It was a lovely lazy holiday. Looking for something similar but on one of the Greek islands.
DC are 8 & 12, they're not really fussed with kids clubs etc but love the pool & beach so ideally a nice hotel with a great pool somewhere beachfront. Happy to spend most of our time at the hotel but would like to occasionally pop to a nearby village or town via bus or taxi.
Can't afford Ikos prices unfortunately but open to other ideas please!

Nana golden beach in Crete. It isn’t really walking distance to places but you could take a taxi/bus. Lots of pools including a water park.

Sorry no recommendations but I would be interested to know your hotel in Ibiza!

MissAtomicBomb1 · 14/08/2023 09:35

@MsJuniper it was the Leonardo Royal, Santa Eulalia (though bizarrely it's actually in Es Cana!)
We've stayed there several times - it's at the end of a long sandy beach and there are steps down from the pool area so you can just pop up and down from the beach to grab drinks etc from the bar. Food is the usual buffet fayre, no a la carte restaurant but plenty to keep us happy for a week and a lovely outdoor dining area overlooking the sea.
Easy walking distance to the resort shops & bars too. It's perfect but we just fancy a change!

Currently nearing the end of a stay at Lyttos beach in Crete and would highly recommend it.

We really liked the Princess Hotel in Skiathos. It's not very fancy, but has a pool, 3 restaurants/cafes and is on the beach. Morning yoga and aqua aerobics and my dc loved the pancakes at breakfast!

The hotel has a bus stop outside, but it was €15 in a taxi to the town centre and we hired a car to get round the island. There are plenty of tavernas near the hotel.

We liked the Blue Lagoon Princess in Halkidiki (it’s a sister of the Blue Lagoon Village on Kos which I think someone had recommended).

It’s cheaper than Ikos or some of the other really high end ones but still has a lovely vibe and is right on the beach. No wrist bands, fights for Sun loungers, pissed up idiots drinking dawn til dusk because the AI stops at the sort of time a normal person would actually like a drink (because it isn’t time limited). A nice laid back family vibe. I found the food good, it is a buffet most evenings but it’s a good buffet.

These recommendations are great, I'm working my way through them - thank you!

We stayed at the lindos imperial on Rhodes (two room family suite sea view), buffet and 3 ala carte restaurants, plenty of pools, one with slides, on the beach. It is a bit remote but we hired a car very cheaply and Rhodes is easy to drive around, it also avoids the awful coach transfers from the airport. It was lovely and peaceful, family friendly and no fighting for sunbeds
