Hello, I am planning a weeks getaway in September with my partner and my 18mo.

Looking at either the Balearic Islands or mainland Spain ideally.

Anyone got any recommendations of a nice hotel, which is truly family friendly, a decent kids pool, and early evening kiddie entertainment. Also, I want to go from all inclusive and for it to be within a town where we could easily walk and get dinner out or to the beach if we wanted to.

It will be my first time away with my daughter, and I'm so used to going to adults only places! I've been looking on TUI but there's nothing really that stands out! Ideally want to spend around £1600/£1700 in total for flights and accommodation.

Thank you !

Royal Son Bou Family Club in Son Bou Menorca is always my recommendation for families with young children. There is some availability in late September through Jet2. They’ve also got some availability direct. The budget might not stretch to all inclusive there though.

Have you looked at Sitges? Very friendly, lovely beach, loads of bars and restaurants and a short train ride into Barcelona if you fancy a bit of sightseeing.

Puerto Pollensa is amazing for young families. One of the best beaches in Majorca. A lovely Pine walk and a harbour. We stayed at the Puerto Azul when mine were small. It was fab!

I agree that Menorca is very family friendly though, the airport is smaller and transfers are quick, it a small, quiet island with small cove like beaches. Cala En Bosch is great for families. We stayed here. The best all inclusive we’ve done. Ordering off menu at lunchtime, not just buffet style. A lovely splash park pool too.

You could also have a look at:

Hipotels Coma Gran in Sa Coma, Mallorca

Mar Hotels Playa de Muro Suites in Playa de Muro, Mallorca

Iberostar Ciudad Blanca in Alcudia, Mallorca

Spain has been really expensive for AI this year but you should be able to do the above for c.£1.7-8k through Jet2, less through somewhere like EasyJet Holidays or OnTheBeach etc.

Yeah, I have to agree it does seem really pricey although I haven't been abroad for a good couple of years - I was really shocked at how expensive some even mediocre look in places were!

Benalmadena is always my recommendation for babies and toddlers because it’s so easy to walk along the promenade for hours, and a quick transfer from the airport. We tend to stay in apartments though so can’t advise on hotels.

September may still be too hot and spoil your enjoyment. I would delay until October.
