Does the 'Romantic Notion' of a place make you want to holiday there?

For me, I think the 'idea' or 'romantic notion' of a place makes me want to holiday there as much as the place itself. I know I would be just as happy on a beach in Spain as I would on a beach on a little Greek island, but it is the Greek island that I lust after. I love going to Celtic areas of the UK for the 'romantic history' of the places, even though I know it is all in my head

It definitely matters to me where I am.

I adore the Greek islands and I would rather be on a less impressive beach on a Greek island than a more impressive beach elsewhere.

There’s just something about the Greek islands I can’t get enough of. I’m not sure I could even fully articulate what it is!
