Hi
thinking of booking a city break holiday 3 nights. It would be solo.

Not in the UK please. looking at Berlin etc but feel free to recommend other places. I don't want to do Prague.

thanks

We did Lille and somewhere in Brussels both on Eurostar which was both very easy. Vienna is also lovely so dh says

I can second Vienna as an excellent Christmas market

Also recommend, especially for 3 nights as you’ll probably want to do things other than markets:

Cologne
Budapest
Brussels / Bruges (could manage both in 3 nights)
Tallinn

Vienna is a beautiful city & felt incredibly safe. Lots to do other than Xmas markets too

Oh god don’t do Brussels. If you want Belgium, Ghent is lovely.

Vienna is indeed glorious. I can only imagine what the Christmas market is like but I bet it’s lovely.

Went to Berlin last year and it was amazing.

We did Berlin a few years ago, and definitely recommend. There are so many different Christmas markets, all with their own theme, some are just food and drink, some are more family orientated with ice rinks etc. there’s also a lot to see and do in Berlin. Tbh it was my DH idea to go to berlin and I wasn’t that fussed, but it exceeded all my expectations.
