We did not go away this summer so looking at Christmas for a sunshine break to avoid an anniversary of a death at home etc -

Looking at Tenerife or similar due to weather & found the hotel Gran Melia Palacio de Isora all pricey whatever we look at but before we commit just wanted to ask wise MN about locations for Christmas with sunshine & hotel recommendations or location?

We are looking at the same hotel but in November so bumping this thread for you and hopefully we will get some recommendations. It's so pricey for Tenerife so would be good to know if it's worth it for that time of year weather wise etc.

We went to Tenerife for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. We booked an amazing villa with Airbnb just outside Puerto de la Cruz & saved a fortune compared to booking a hotel - contrary to other places in Europe everything was open over Christmas - cafes, restaurants, shops. You really don't need to incur the ridiculous hotel prices!
