Algarve wildfires

I’m due to fly to Portugal, staying in Alvor a week today. I’ve woken up this morning to news of wildfires in the area and people are being evacuated.

I’m guessing it’s just a case of watch and wait and see what happens as to whether we can actually fly or not.

I was really looking forward to some sunshine. I’ve spent a week camping in this rubbish British weather and we also went abroad at May half term and the weather where we went was rubbish whilst here in the UK was lovely and sunny that week. I know there are worse problems to have, I’m just having a pity party over here! (Lighthearted, kind of!)

We’re due to fly in 3 weeks time to the Algarve. Do you think there’s the possibility of them cancelling?

The news today seemed a bit more positive in that the fires weren’t out but we’re under control and it all depended on the wind direction which was due to change this afternoon. I haven’t heard anything about our holiday and we fly in 6 days. I would think you would be fine in 3 weeks time.

The fires at Odemira do appear to be under control but regardless they are a long distance away from Alvor so no risk to your holiday. Hope you have a great holiday.
