Hi, I am looking to travel to the States from week 31+5 to week 33+1 of my pregnancy and was wondering whether anyone had recently found travel insurance to cover premature birth during this stage? Every insurer I have spoken to so far only covers up to week 32. If that is the case, I can look at changing dates, but wanted to see whether anyone had found a solution to this?

For context, the airline is happy for me to fly up to 36 weeks and I have had no complications and have no risk factors.

Thanks!

It might be worth speaking to a broker, I think travel insurance will usually only cover up to 28 weeks or some 32 weeks as you’ve found

It might be worth checking out the InsureAndGo family insurance policy - just saw on an old thread that it might cover a newborn born prematurely

Which part of the US are you coming to and when? If it’s soon, you might want to reconsider. Most parts are in a heatwave and wildfires are a real concern. We have one burning near us and the smoke is intense. I cough like crazy just bringing in the mail.

Thanks both. @cherryassam kind of you to check an old thread! I called InsureAndGo yesterday and looks as though they have changed their policy and now only cover up to 32 weeks unfortunately.

@BritWifeInUSA, we are planning on going to Rhode Island at the end of Aug/beginning of Sept. I have had a look at the wildfires map and it looks relatively safe round there, but thank you for flagging!
