Family resort in New York State?

I'm looking for a fun (and hopefully luxury ish) family resort in either New York state or Cape Cod type areas. I don't know if what I want exists - kind of a posher American Centerparcs - swimming, beach maybe, activities for 10yo (sports culture, craft, etc), good food, etc. Any thoughts?

Bumping because I want this too, or would go as far as Maine next summer!

Have been extensively to hamptons and fire island and looking for something marginally more chilled / less hectic.

some great suggestions on math anxiety's link, Great Wolf Lodge is a wonderful franchise with really good waterparks and stuff to do. There is one in Niagara Falls too if you make it that far up NY State. There is also the Von Trapp (the Sound of Music ones!) Family Lodge in VT which is also high end. To be honest it depends on your budget but the American tendency for add ons and tipping has only increased, remember to factor in crazy resort fees and an 18% tip for housekeeping, bar and restaurants. I personally hate that aspect. If it's more activities you are after the State campgrounds which offer cabins are maybe more akin to a Centreparcs experience, with art groups swimming, canoe rentals, paddleboarding, ranger programs (for whales on coastal sites and wolves and such-like) and biking at a much smaller cost. NY parks There are some great places in upstate NY like the Strong Museum of Play. Let us know if you want more info.

You could try the Samoset Resort on the Maine coast or Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake in Maine. Some of the Maine coast south of Portland can get kind of tacky so I’d be more careful there, whereas further north and inland I think is lovely.

There are also some great campsites that have RVs and a lot of fun activities - never been to any but friends have liked them.

Some state parks have tons of kids activities eg Mt Blue State Park in Maine but they’re definitely not luxury.

Mohonk Mountain House is iconic. So beautiful, fun for all ages, and astonishingly expensive.

I'd look for family camps! If you go out further west you'd be looking for dude ranches.
