Is it safe to go to Rhodes?

Hi all

I was sat on heading to rhodes this summer, but then the wildfires happened so I put off booking a holiday but there are some really cheap deals at the minute to go to Rhodes and I haven't been aboard in over five years and I have £500 in 'fun money savings' I have seen holidays for as little as £300.

Is it safe to now go to rhodes or would you skip?

You've... Seen the news, right?

Yes, I would go. I’ve always wanted to visit Rhodes and it’s high on my list for next year.

Yes, but my colleague is flying out at the weekend so I was thinking if she's still flying out then it must be safe to go now?

I just really want a holiday, but looking to hear from people that are either there now or have just come back to see if the situation is still as bad as it was a couple of weeks ago

The fires are out, the state of emergency has been lifted, the island needs its tourism business back.

On the news last night they were reporting that Rhodes is pretty much business as usual now and there hasn’t been a wildfire for a week.
Go for it OP.

I’m in Corfu and it’s bloody glorious. I know it wasn’t as badly affected but I’d go for it if I was you.

Theimpossiblegirl · 03/08/2023 20:29

If I wasn't already going somewhere else I'd book Rhodes. They need the tourists back.

whiteroseredrose · 03/08/2023 20:34

My DS is going next week so I hope it's ok.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 03/08/2023 21:00

I’d go.

We're in Axia in the north at the moment and it is very much business as usual. Have a holiday!

A friend booked a last minute trip their last week as their plans here were going to be rained out, they had a great time and all was fine.

CornishGem1975 · 05/08/2023 16:31

Yes, I've had family there for the past week. It's fine, the majority of the island it's business as usual and to be fair pretty much always was.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 05/08/2023 16:59

I’d go.
