We’re flying soon with hang luggage only so will have loads of minis in plastic bags, we’ve got some zip loc bags which are 20x30cm, guidance is ‘approx 20cm x 20cm’
would we get away with the bigger bags?!

It's literally on all the signs at every UK airport

Yes but its very easy to just put one bag in one tray and another in a different tray, been doing that for years and never been stopped BUT have been for wrong sized bag.. ... go figure!

It’s definitely one small bag per person and it is the bane of my travel existence. I’m allergic to practically all products. I have to bring my own hand soap daily just to be able to wash my hands on a brief trip from the house. Toiletries in checked bags means the risk of lost luggage and it’s not like you can buy safe products at your destination when your life involves having to buy toothpaste and suncream online in the first place .

this rule drives me absolutely insane. It is ridiculous in how easily it would be to violate because next to my very stuffed bag of precious hypoallergenic products I’ve got unlimited bags of liquid medication, including allergy shots, epipens, inhalers, etc. if I was going to do something nefarious, I would just hide the bad stuff inside the many syringes I’m carrying.

Ponderingwindow medication is exempt so would a doctor's note for your products help?

have you thought about pre-ordering larger sunscreen etc. to collect from Boots

or if going on holiday, just buy when you get there. If it's a sunny holiday destination, they will have sunscreen.

I flew from London City to Nice the other week and London City basically don't give a shit because their security equipment is so futuristic, but at Nice airport I ended up chucking a load of stuff out to fit in their stupid little bags. So check each airport basically.

Isn't that because London City have new high tech scanners that mean they allow much larger volumes of liquids to be taken in hand luggage? Can't remember their new limits but it's a lot more than the current limit elsewhere. They are hoping to roll out these new scanners to other airports soon.
