Self Catering Cottage in West Wales anyone?

We have decided to stay in the UK for our holiday this year and would love to go up to West Wales (anywhere in the St Davids area or thereabouts).
Requirements are:

2-3 beds (2 adults & 2 girls, 14&12)
Dog friendly (we have 2 very well behaved pooches)
Close to a beach which allows responsible dog owners
Available in school summer hols.

If anyone is interested in a house swap we have a 4 bed detached house with a large garden on the Notts/ Derbys border, with loads of tourist attractions a short drive away, including the Derbys Dales, Sherwood Forest, Nottingham (Robin Hood Museum).

TIA

hi, sorry, not a house swap, but we stayed here last year and it was fantasic. Its not as far west as st davids, but we have been going to west wales for many years and this part of pembrokeshire is absolutely beautiful and has loads of things to do.

They are pet friendly too and I have just looked at the availabilty and they have a couple of weeks left - but not many!

May be worth a look?

dirtygertie - looks lovely but all booked for when we'd need to go which is a shame

That's exactly what we're after though - had no idea it would be so expensive - am I very naive??!!

I love that area too. Hope you find someone. (There is (or used to be a campsite at Newgale beach if you are looking for a cheaper holiday.)

Can't really do camping unfortunately for more than a night or two - my back gives up and I spend the week on sticks

hmm, yes, cottages in west wales V expensive imo.

I'll have another little search for you... what week are you looking for?

Dropdeadfred · 27/02/2008 11:00

CAT me if you don't find a swap and I'll email you the name of the co I've used before - still expensive though. I've still got to book for this year so not going to tell everyone

Can't do house swap, sorry. But you could try this site.

It's quite good. Loads of places to stay and reasonable cheap compared to others. We've found a cottage from here.

Wisteria · 27/02/2008 11:57

Thanks Orm - will have a look with DP later
