We (family of 4) were due to fly to Venice on July 14th. Flights were cancelled on the 8th. We couldn't get any other flights (we had rented a car and were going to drive around for 2 weeks) so we just decided to drive instead of cancelling. We needed an extra 3 days to do this and spent a lot more extra money! Got back yesterday after an amazing trip.
Before we left I tried twice to get compensation from EJ. Both times they emailed back saying they were unable to find the booking claim with the information provided. As I copied and pasted the information from the email they sent me, I assume they are trying to fob me off and hope I would give up.
I have now submitted a third time. Is this normal? Is anyone getting compensation from EJ after the mass cancellation of flights in July? If so, do I keep trying or is there a way to escalate this? TIA.
