I live on the island next to Aruba. Aruba definitely has some nice restaurants. It caters mostly to Americans so most amenities are in good order. Of the three islands there, however I would say it is the one with the least nature left intact, but still sufficient for a few daytrips. If you really love nature, I would suggest to combine it with Bonaire. Lovely little island, lots of nature and diving opportunities. Curaçao is the biggest island of the three, bit more authentic compared to Aruba but less amenities for tourists. Has a nice combination of nature and nightlife.

oh thankyou for your reply that sounds really interesting- would it be possible to do a combination of the three? would it be ferries from one to another?
i'll try and do some research as well

No ferries yet between the islands, but small planes fly multiple times per day between the islands. There are sometimes yachts that travel from one island to the other and take persons with them.

If you want to visit in uninhabited island, both Curaçao and Bonaire have a smaller island, to which often daytrips are organized
